Dashboards for Performance Improvement Programs
The use of Six Sigma-inspired dashboards can add visual horsepower to incentives, loyalty programs, and any initiative where tracking results is important. Sophisticated software uses a graphic interface that connects to dynamic data sources, including Excel spreadsheets, to present performance results in an intuitive and visually attractive manner. Dashboards can be designed for individual participants to view their progress or for management to view aggregate results.
There are several possibilities for application. Here are a few.
- Create a website to serve as a performance update portal, allowing participants to view individual performance results 24/7/365.
- E-mail new results to participants as they become available.
- Create PowerPoint slides to present aggregate results in group settings.
- Allow managers to view results using real-time data.

A dashboard is a tool used for collecting and reporting information about vital customer requirements and/or your business' performance for key customers. Dashboards provide a quick summary of process and/or product performance.
Six Sigma is a rigorous and a systematic methodology that utilizes information (management by facts) and statistical analysis to measure and improve a company's operational performance, practices and systems. It identifies and prevents “defects” in manufacturing and service-related processes in order to anticipate and exceed expectations of all stakeholders to accomplish effectiveness.
