Generational Marketing
Truth #1: Between birth and roughly age 20, we form most of the core values and beliefs that we embrace our entire lives. What we are taught and what we witness and directly experience largely dictates our belief system for life. Hence, the term "formative years".
Truth #2: People who share the same times and teachings - the formative years' experiences - share the same core values and become an age cohort, or "generation".
Truth #3: Life in America has changed rapidly over the past century. We're living 30 years longer than we did 100 years ago. For the first time in our nation's history, America has five living generations, each with its own unique formative years and, thus, with its own core values and attitudes.
